ShareHouse invites you into Next Wave's home, Brunswick Mechanics Institute, for community-led workshops, performances, and conversations.
Under the guidance of our Young Artistic Director, Banda, Saturday will feature a collaborative still-life-drawing workshop with visual artist Charlie Taylor, followed by lunch catered by sogobri and a panel talk exploring the relationship between artists and community.

Event Notes
Next Wave is currently situated on Wurundjeri Land. We acknowledge the Traditional Custodians of this land that we work and create on, and pay respect to their Elders past, present, and emerging. We extend this respect to all First Nations people around the globe, recognising that sovereignty has never been ceded.

Next Wave started as a gathering for young people in 1984, and the story comes full circle in 2024.
PLEASE NOTE: 50% of all profits will be donated towards 'Baluk Arts', an Aboriginal owned and led community arts centre and gallery, the only of its kind in the southeast of the state.

- Face masks, hand sanitiser and ear plugs will be available at the bar and we will have one air purifier in each space.
- There is ramp access to the Brunswick Mechanics Institute. Inside the venue is step-free and has accessible bathrooms.

- Lunch will be provided. Due to the nature of this event and the limited resources on site, we are unable to offer alternative menu items. Please include any allergies/dietaries when purchasing a ticket.
