To close Under My Tongue, join us at Brunswick Mechanics on Saturday 29 July for a range of public programs curated to amplify the themes and stories shared through Under My Tongue’s performance and exhibition season. These programs are free and all are welcome. 


 Disability Pride Badge Making 
  2 – 5pm 

Wear your pride on your sleeve (or wherever you’d like to) and create your own Disability Pride badge in this free, drop-in workshop facilitated by exhibiting artist Larissa MacFarlane. Advocacy is a key part of Larissa’s work and badge making has been an ongoing part of their practice. This workshop provides space to share skills and socialise together while celebrating Disability Pride. 
 

Artists in Conversation 
  3 – 4pm 

Join Belinda Locke and exhibiting artists Andy Jackson, Rachael Guy, Elvin Lam, and Gemma Mahadeo in an intimate discussion examining the development of Under My Tongue and the themes explored within the performance and exhibition. The artist discussion will be Auslan interpreted and live-streamed with captions for anyone wishing to join remotely.

  • There are gender neutral and accessible toilets.
  • We will have staff available on the day and beforehand to ensure everyone can attend.

We encourage masking at Brunswick Mechanics Institute and will have face masks available at all Under My Tongue programs.
