Radical Hospitality: Platforming Community 2
You are invited to Radical Hospitality – Platforming Community 2, curated by Producer in Residence MaggZ at Brunswick Mechanics (BM), on Sat 5 Nov 2022, 3 – 6:15pm. This event aims to centre immigrants experience by bringing together QPOC makers and artists, to converse and exchange the relationship between culture and art practice in the context of Naarm through the lens of present and future.
This event will include the following elements:
3pm: Acknowledgement of Country by MaggZ (@magg._z)
3 – 3:15pm: Guided mindfulness practice by MaggZ (@magg._z)
3:20 – 3:35pm: Performance by Nonoy Cisco and Trace (@nonoycisco @tracetrinh)
3:40 – 4:40pm: Discussion panel facilitated by Jurnma (@jurnma), in conversation with Andy Kuramoto (@andonis_), Jennifer Ma (@jennifoomama), Marisa Mu (@marisa.mu), Shin (@shinobi.dj)
4:45 – 6:15pm: DJ Mothafunk (@_mothafunk) + open dance jams / cyphers
This event will be Auslan interpreted, documented by Jafri Yakin (@worldunderground_), graphic design by Joey Truong (@just.joeydesign)
All profits of the event will be donated to Many Coloured Sky – a non-profit queer development agency that supports LGBTQI+ organisations and communities in discriminatory, resource-poor and complex settings with capacity building, planning and project development, and empowers those at the margins of LGBTQI+ communities to participate fully and equally.
All welcome, snacks / finger food will be provided by Fina’s (@finasvegetariancafe) with open bar in partnership with Mountain Goat (@goatbeer) and Noisy Ritual (@noisyritual), hope to see you there 😊
